I didn’t always used to paint. When my first child was born, I was astonished at how brilliant their spirit was. I dedicated myself to raising them true to themself, but I realized I was a hypocrite. I couldn’t be true to myself–I didn’t even know who I was! So I started to explore, trying lots of things and failing at them.
When I discovered watercolor it was like finding a language that I always needed, a way to express the otherwise inexpressible things inside of my soul. I paint to tell the story of who we are to each other, what it means to be human, the importance of cultivating community, and the ways in which we foster joy and love in the face of an untenable world.
Here is a gallery of some of my favorite Storybook Images.
Tarry On
When I lost the foundation in my life, I painted this scene. To me, this painting captures what it felt like to want to nurture and protect my kids while gathering the strength I needed from them in order to look to a better tomorrow.
In the same way that our grief connects us, I want our hope to connect us.
When you hang this art in your home, I want you to remember that there is a rainbow waiting for us on the other side of these storm clouds. When you see this art, I want you to know that we are connected. We are part of the same community.
You will never be alone.

Courage is Contagious
Former Vice President Kamala Harris made the following remarks at the Leading Women Defined Summit in California on April 3rd, 2025: “Fear is contagious… but courage is contagious too. The courage to say what is happening is wrong. The courage to say there is a path forward. The courage to hold onto the democracy we still have.”
